A Control Panel is a web-based user interface via which you can manage different aspects of your world-wide web presence. As an illustration, you can create or change website files, set up and check e-mails, control databases, check visitor stats and so on. These things are done using buttons and menus in an internet browser and the CP can also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the administration area associated with your Internet hosting account. Most of the Control Panels these days will enable you to handle all hosting-related matters, but you shall normally need a different system to take care of payments or to get a new domain name in case the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they employ, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to diagnose a problem also, or you may have to employ a third system.
